About My Car
I purchased this car in 1985. Originally it was white with blue cobra stripes and louvers. Under the hood was a V-6. The car is actually a 76 model with the dash coming from a 77 model. The body had the following removed from it; door mirrors, all 4 lighted side markers, windshield wipers, vents and holes on the cowl, gas cap, trunk key hole, all ford and mustang lettering. The following body parts are fiberglass and attached with duzus fasteners; front and rear bumpers, rear hatch, front fenders & hood and scoop. All windows are lexan, except for the door windows. The body was painted with Ford vermillion acrylic enamel. All chrome parts were painted black; except for door key holes they are red. Wheels are Weld Superlites, 15X5 & 15X10. Tires are Mickey Thompson's slicks, 26X5 & 26X10. Front has Koni 90/10 shocks with factory V-6 coil springs, manual steering rack lowered 2.5 inches, & cross member modified for rear sump pan. Rear has Lakewood 50/50 shocks with factory leaf springs. Rear housing is a 9 inch with brace, mounted with housing floaters and ladder bars, with Moser 33 spline axles, nodular case, 3.5 gears & spool. Car has factory frame with sub frame connectors and 10 point roll cage, front motor plate, midplate, and rubber mount on tranny tailshaft. Interior has Jaz seats with 5 point harness, custom dash with Autometer gauges, including playback tach, Hurst quarter stick shifter, Jaz 16 gallon fuel cell. Custom made heater and Receiver/CD player. Transmission is C-4 from FB trannys, it has full manual valve body with brake, and 8 inch converter with 4500 rpm stall speed. Electrical is handled by Optima battery, Tilton super starter with one wire 100 amp alternator. Ignition is all MSD components, 7AL-3, billet distributor, pro coil, 8mm wires. Cooling done by Griffin aluminum radiator, moroso electric water pump motor, & Flex lite fan. Engine begins from a 70 Cleveland block at 388 cubic inches with lots of machine work, 8 hi-po sleeves were installed and left at standard bore. Engine block filler was used, stopping at 2.5 inches below deck height. Lifter bores are bushed, block decked at zero height, 4 bolt main caps were used, ARP main and head studs, all others ARP 12pt bolts. 3.85 inch Scat forged crankshaft, 6 inch Scat forged rods, 12 to1 forged Diamond flat top pistons & rings, Moroso rear sump pan with Melling pump. Comp Cams mech roller with duration of 256 / 260 @ .050, lift is .731 / .726, Ford Motorsports 63cc quench chamber aluminum j-heads, valves are 2.19 & 1.71. Ford Motorsports single plane intake, Demon carburetor 830 CFM. Custom hedders are 1 7/8 inch primary with 3.5 inch collectors, Flowmaster mufflers 3 chamber and 3 inch, 50 series race. Nitrous Express Gemini Twin system is installed with bottle heater and purge solenoid, currently using 150hp jests. Car is street driven & taken to the drag strip. Current engine was put in car OCT 2004. With new engine first time at drag strip it ran 6.73@101 on motor and 6.10@111 sprayed in the 1/8
