About My Car
The car was originally light saddle bronze. The original owner had an
aftermarket a/c installed, which would be nice except that whoever did it
cut the dash apart to put it in. It also put way too much strain on the
car, requiring an idle speed of 1500 to 2000.
Since I bought the car from my brother (his wife was the second owner, and
it was her second II...she totalled a v8 ghia in high school), I've mainly
worked on getting the appearance up to specs. Side louvers, blackened
grill, gloss white springs, aluminum slots, spoiler, 14" tires, etc.
Engine wise, the top half was rebuilt at 100k miles with a new cam
installed. I've repainted most of the engine the original ford blue,
plus put in a new power steering pump and rack. The a/c unit was the
first thing to go.
I found new interior pieces to replace worn/cut originals, leaving me with
a mix of white and black (the carpet is bronze and will be replaced
eventually). The car is a daily driver that always turns heads,
especially the cops who just love the window tinting.
