Buck Tag Codes
A very unofficial list of codes found on the buck tags on Mustang II's
These codes were complied from various sources. I compared them to the
codes listed on cars in the
MustangII.Org Registry.
Codes that have nothing but a year in the description colum mean that this
code wasn't on anyone else's list, but these were the years that they showed
up in the Registry. They may or may not be inspector's hand stamps; not
everyone told me which codes were stamps.
The following codes did not show up on any cars in the Registry:
B GARD (we have a number of cars listed that do have bumper guards)
CLOCK (many of these cars have clocks)
I WIP (no one listed intermittent wipers as an option anyway)
L GP (I don't think anyone listed light group. I have it in my car,
but it was "stolen" from another car, so it wouldn't show up
anyway)
L WRAP (there are a few cars with the leather wrapped wheel and no
code)
MAP
ROAD and ROAD ABRASI (from discussions on the list, I know there are
a few cars with this option)
THEFT (at least one person had the security group. the one 75 I've
seen with the security package is missing it's buck tag)
U (a couple listed U but I don't know if it went towards map light
or undercoating)
SUN is on my car, a 1974 Ghia with a sliding metal panel. No one else
listed it.
