If you have changed the size of the wheels/tires on your car to be different
from the original factory equipment, then your speedometer has likely been
less accurate. To compensate for this inacuracy, you can change the gear on
the transmission end of the speedometer cable to compensate. Below is a a
list of those small nylon gears (speedometer driven gear) that are currently
available. Since each gear has a different tooth count, they can be used to
bring your speedometer back to a more accurate reading.
Keep in mind these calculators are just for reference. Many of them depend on
actual tire diameter. Diameters calculated on the calculators can be significantly
different from actual diameters, as manufacturers dimensions varied significantly.
To be sure of a calulation, you should use actual tire circumference and calulate
back to diameter.
